San Diego, CA - Qualifier 105
Pelagic Pro Team Captain Joe Crisci docked Qualifer 105 at Point Loma Sportfishing Saturday, September 10th, returning with what he called “A Historical Catch”. During the 7-day voyage sponsored by Pelagic Gear, Gary Schall of the Long Beach Fire Department, and Gary Vanderlyke of TRU Charters, Captain Joe first put his twenty-six anglers on some quality Yellowfin and Bluefin tuna fishing before heading south to Benitos Island and “The Ridge” for wide-open fishing on 18-30 pound California Yellowtail with a handful of 40-pounders to round out the Jackpot spots.  The “Historical” catch occurred on the last day of fishing when large 40-60 pound Grouper staged an incredible bite.  Every angler on board got their chance to land a few quality Grouper before Capt. Joe had to drive away and leave these incredible fish biting.  This unprecedented catch marks the first time anyone can recall Grouper biting wide-open in the history of long range fishing.  Look forward to a full article from this historic adventure to be released later this year in The Waterman’s Journal  (www.TheWatermansJournal.com) and on the Qualifier’s website (www.Qualifier105.com).
