Chris began his fishing career in Florida, but brought his center console to Samoa in 2005 to start exploring the potential of the bountiful waters. He sold his center console a few years later and in 2008 he spent some time taking a 43' Cabo from Samoa to Vanuatu. During this time, he spent over a year exploring very remote areas of the South Pacific. He stumbled across some great bites along the way.
Chris moved down to Samoa after falling in love with the surfing that is provided by a very heavy reef break which located in front of Salani village on the southeast side of Upolu Island. Chris became the owner of Salani Surf Resort in 2003. In 2009, a devastating tsunami leveled the resort, so Chris and his crew rebuilt the entire resort from scratch.
Not long after, Chris purchased a beautifully restored 37' Merritt (hull 5) and began to incorporated his fishing into the surf resort. He is now based out of Kona, Hawaii fishing the big Blue marlin among other species. Chris will spend the other ½ of the year fishing and exploring Samoa on a 31' Bertram (soon to come). Chris continues to live and run Salani Surf Resort for the prime surfing/fishing months ( Oct- May). Chris looks forward to exploring the remote parts of the Pacific while fishing and surfing his way through the islands.
