Olaf started fishing for big marlin in 1996 in Horta Azores on the *Xacara*, a boat he is now running now. Olaf was a charterguest for only one day and caught a monster Blue marlin, estimated at 950 pounds. The next year Olaf came back, he caught a giat Bluefin tuna that weighed in at 750 pounds. He was hooked on big game fishing. Olaf shared a little 28' Chriscraft with a friend in the Azores for a few years. In 1999, he started captaining in Ghana on the *Harmattan*, which he's running in Ascension Island now.
Olaf splits his time by running charter operations in Cape Verde, Ascension Island, and the Azores in search of giant Atlantic Blue marlin. Olaf runs the *Harmattan* in Ascension Island part of the year and this is where he caught his first grander Blue marlin. The other third of the year, Olaf runs the *La onda Andromeda* out of Cape Verde. Olaf also spends time in the Azores where he captains the *Xacara* in search of Atlantic giants. Olaf has had some ventures in the Canary Islands as well as spending a some time in South Africa.
